Known issues
What Cleo can’t do yet, in plain words, published before you sign up rather than discovered afterwards. If something here is a dealbreaker for you, it’s better that you know now.
Mobile apps aren’t available yet
Cleo builds web apps and browser games today. Real iPhone and Android builds, and submitting to the app stores, are still in testing and not open to founders.
What to doIf your idea works at a web address it works on a phone browser today, with no app store wait. Ask us if you’re not sure yours fits.
Your app’s address is a vercel.app URL until you attach your own domain
Every app goes live straight away on an address like your-app.vercel.app. There is no branded Cleo subdomain.
What to doAttach your own domain from the project’s Deploy tab whenever you’re ready — about five minutes, plus DNS propagation. We never touch your registrar or your DNS; you keep control of both.
Sending email from your app needs your own email key
Apps that email people — contact forms, receipts, notifications — need a Resend API key that you provide. Without one the app says email isn’t set up rather than silently dropping messages.
What to doAdd the key in your project’s settings and it starts sending immediately. Ask us if you’d like a hand.
Projects built before 6 August use a different database
Apps created before that date run on Supabase; newer ones use Cleo’s managed database. Both work. A few older task descriptions still name Supabase.
What to doNothing. If a task reads oddly because of the name, ignore it — the work is the same.
